Tom Blomqvist, champion 2022 de L'IMSA en Prototype, fait ses débuts en IndyCar à Toronto en remplacement de Simon Pagenaud, blessé, chez Meyer Shank Racing^[5]. Il le remplace par la suite à Portland and Laguna Seca^[6].
Linus Lundqvist, champion 2022 de l'Indy Lights, fait ses débuts en IndyCar à Nashville en remplacement de Simon Pagenaud, blessé, chez Meyer Shank Racing^[7]. Il le remplacera aussi lors du deuxième Grand Prix d'Indianapolis^[8], et par la suite à Gateway^[9].

Tony Kanaan passe de Chip Ganassi Racing à Arrow McLaren SP pour les 500 miles d'Indianapolis^[12].
Takuma Sato passe d'un programme à temps plein chez Dale Coyne Racing avec Rick Ware Racing à un calendrier sur les ovales avec Chip Ganassi Racing^[13].

Pendant la saison modifier

Graham Rahal, non-qualifié pour les 500 miles d'Indianapolis avec Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, remplace Stefan Wilson, blessé lors des essais, chez Dreyer & Reindbold Racing^[14].
Ryan Hunter-Reay remplace Conor Daly chez Ed Carpenter Racing à partir de la manche à Road America^[15].
Conor Daly remplace Simon Pagenaud, victime d'un grave accident lors des essais le samedi, chez Meyer Shank Racing pour la manche à Mid-Ohio^[16], puis pour les courses de l'Iowa. Il remplace par la suite Jack Harvey lors de la manche de Gateway^[17].
