Safran Seats is a French company of Safran, specialized in the manufacturing of aircraft seats in the aerospace industry.

Safran Seats equips short, medium and long -haul aircrafts for passenger seats and crews. The company also manufactures helicopter technical seats.

History

Safran Seats built its culture on the diversity of activities acquired worldwide by Zodiac Aerospace, a French aerospace company founded in 1896, before being acquired by Safran in 2008:

In 1989, Weber Aircraft (USA) joined Zodiac Aerospace. The company designs and supplies aircraft seats for economy, business and first class passengers.

In 1992, the world leader in seating for economy class seats Sicma Aero Seat brings its expertise to the Group.

In 2005, the American C&D Aerospace adds its cabin interiors manufacturing know-how.

In December 2011, the British Contour Aerospace, world leader in business class and first class aircraft seats ahead of the American B/E Aerospace, gives Zodiac Aerospace 40% market share in value.

In 2018, Safran acquires Zodiac Aerospace and creates three distinct businesses: Safran Aerosystems, Safran Cabin and Safran Seats.
