At the Age of 5 years old (1975) he started to pursue Martial Arts (Judo). Might be that this path was inherent to his Family roots, his Grandmother - a native Indonesian - supported him with all her might. At the age of 12 years old he started Karate, which he's still practicing with his Sensei- and dear Friend Salvatore Caprino, a 5th Dan Fudokan-Karate master.

During his childhood, Basel was known to be a very rough town. He was attacked several times by youth gangs. Most of time he could defend himself and help others quite successfully. Until a fight in 1984 where he was alone in a fight against five attackers. All but one attacker were discouraged from attacking him but that one hit him pretty hard: It was the very moment he got introduce to Ving Tsun. After doing researches he found two Schools and – he had chosen the one which was representing the lineage of Grandmaster Wang Kiu.

In the year 2000 through Wing Chun he was introduce to Grandmaster Kwok, who has since become his Sifu. At the 2002 opening ceremony of Ip Man Tong, Grandmaster Kwok encouraged him to take Part at 1st Duan Wei Graduating outside VR China in Northern Irland. Going through 3 days of evaluation at Masters Class he was recognized as the second Wing Chun Practioners in history of Wing Chun by the Officials from VR China.

Since 1994 he has developed his own Self Defense System. It has been thought to several hundred civilians, officer and at private Security Field and is still being adapted to the needs and challenges of everyday life. Even after he left Police Forces and retiring from the Armed Services this month as an Officer ranked as a Captain his Law Enforcement colleagues and civilians are asking me for offering Classes. Presently we are planning and evaluating a special "Peace Enforcement Project" to Set Up a "Seminar" in Kosovo 2014 where Serbs and Kosovo-Albanians may join under one common understanding: The Traditional Martial Arts Code of Conduct.

A great honor was given to him in August 2013 by entering through Bai Si into Grandmaster Kwoks family as "Kwok Tien Lung" and within this as 3rd Generation Disciple of We Yan (Ip Man) and becoming Senior Instructors for Switzerland and near border cities (France, Germany, Austria and Italy), Israel and Palestine, Schleswig (Germany close border to Denmark) and Kosovo.
