Someone, please help,...:

I had come to the French wiki in order to request help with an article which is largely based on French.

I do not know how else to do so; I am sorry for that.

In the process, I, as well, came across a word often employed here; I wanted to learn more of this word.

Now, there are two:

dernière|derniere;
défaire|defaire.

If someone can read enough en : American-English in order to respond, to direct me as to whom to ask, that would be helpful. Please?

I have been contacted by one of your participants, which has led me to this page, where I found handicapée, which does not, in fact, wikilink, &, nor does en : wikilink, due to some mystery.

I do find handicapée to be en : emblematic of why I do find wikipédia, wikipedia, wikimedia, mediawiki, to be en : vile; it is not the software, it is the en : policy that is handicappist, handicappism. Okay, so, it does wikilink as handicapé. Neither one need be so en : prominently, en : exaltedly, en : promoted.

Of all the trillions of potential en : latin derivatives, I do very much suspect that there might be another en : synonym available, though, certainly, none is perfect, &, we must always, everyday, further refine en : lexicon_(disambiguation), en : vocabulary_, en : etymology_, en : linguistic_(disambiguation), en : language_(disambiguation).

The page, "handicap" does link to en : disability, which does include a en : redirect of en : disabled, as well as en : disable, whereas en : handicapped & en : handicap are en : disambiguation.

So, does French have anything like disablée, disablé, disabilitée, disabilité? There must be another synonym; I am certain that there is something other than "handicap" to work from.

The expression "personnes handicapées" is the translation of "people with disabilities", wich comes from the official definition of Web accessibility by the Web Accessibility Initiative. See Introduction to Web Accessibility. It's not a matter of Wikipedia policy.

No, "Handicapé" is simply the exact word, without any problematic connotation in french. Other words ("infirme"} or euphemism ("personnes en situation de handicap") are just confusing or worst (from your point of view) with no profit. As said Temesis, the term in use in french is "Handicapé", it can't be substituted to another, even if we understand the use of this can be confusing for some. We, the french wikipédia community, can't change a word and decide to use any word instead of any other.
