Archaeoctonus

Archaeoctonus glaber, unique représentant du genre Archaeoctonus, est une espèce fossile de scorpions de la famille des Proscorpiidae.

Distribution modifier

Cette espèce a été découverte à Glencartholm en Écosse. Elle date du Carbonifère^[1].

Description modifier

Archaeoctonus glaber devait mesurer environ 50 mm^[2].

Systématique et taxinomie modifier

Cette espèce a été décrite sous le protonyme Eoscorpius glaber par Peach en 1883. Elle est placée dans le genre Archaeoctonus par Pocock en 1911^[2].
