Ahmed Wahby,whose real name is Ahmed Tidjani Driche, did the clinic "Ste Anne"Marseilles (South of France)on 15/11/1921 and died in Algiers on 28/10/1993,was one of the founders Houari Blaoui with the musical kind called El Asri.A new kind Oran in the years 1940,and influenced by the great masters of Arabic music as Mohamed Abdelwahab and Farid El-Atrash, that while by borrowing his style East uses the rythms and poetic language Oran.He is typically buried in cement Sidi Yahia Bir Mourad Raïs in Algiers.

Biography

Do an Algerian father and a French mother of Italian origin, her mother dies while he was still infant, he grows up with his sister in the district (neighborhood)of M'dina Jedida Oran with his grand father. Orphan from an early age, he was rescued and raised after the death of his another, with his grand parents who lived in Medina Djedida at Oran. However before being a recognized artist, Ahmed Wahby shot to fame in the mid athletics and swimming, having been crowned champion in the 110 meter hurdles. Having invested in the song, in the 1940,1950 will be a good period after his meeting with Cheikh Abdelkader El Khaldi. It will produce 19 quality works. It was a fruitful meeting that the singer will use to put the most beautiful qacidas music as"Fat elli fat",Cha'lat la youne".Ahmed Wahby participated in galas by browsing other cities. His personality has also forged in his trips abroad, as in Paris where he appeared at the cabaret"El -Djazair" of the road of Huchette, in the Latin Quarter. True wahby gave Oran song,a dimension that has exceeded the borders of the Maghreb. He always inspired the great masters of classical oriental song and liked evoking distant anecdotes born of the meeting with Farid El Attrache or Mohamed Abdelwahab and also his admiration for Ryadh Soumbati.His return to the city he was always idolized be a lengthy stop to reflect on a project that he had so much at heart.In the twilight of his life, Ahmed Wahbi manager had a heart institute for the promotion of Oran song with teachers and a curriculum developed.The stage was set in the redevelopment project of the palace of Arts and Culture (ACP) but the project could not be realized. Ahmed Wahby will know the worst moments of his life. His wife will die as a result of a disease which affected him greatly. Then his son Dader, was delighted at the prime (flower) of life, the victim of a traffic accident. This was the final blow.The author of wahran never recover. He wastes away and did not resist the vagaries of life. This city will still be grateful mentioning his name on the pediment of the renovated conservatory. This is the only memory that recalls the monument of inestimable wealth.

The poet of deep oranite

Author of several of his songs, it will appeal to other poets for bona fide Oran texts. Thus he will sick the poet Abdelkader Khaldi ,the author of Bakhta who had a great influence on the Oran-Song or some masters of folk poetry as Mestfa Ben Ibrahim, Sheikh Said , or Sheikh Benkablia.In 1950 , he recorded at pathe-Marconi its flagship song on the theme of exile in which enshrines the Algerian tradition: wahran wahran.Song where he evokes his father Dader.Most of his works will be in exile since he lived in Paris from 1947 to 1957 before moving toTunis.where he founded the musical troupe FLN.Period where he leads a propaganda activity for the national cause.Residant in Oran since independence, it will not leave this city that twice: from 1965 to 1967 and then staying in Paris 1969-1971 for Marrocco .Back in Oran, he will take the musical direction of the Regional Theatre of Oran. Persuer a work ,he called the"adventure of the Algerian song",Ahmed Wahbi is forced over the years to reduce its activity as a result of problems health. He died in Algiers in 1993.
