Les Naviculaceae sont une famille d'algues de l'embranchement des Bacillariophyta (Diatomées), de la classe des Bacillariophyceae et de l’ordre des Naviculales.

Étymologie modifier

Le nom de la famille vient du genre type Navicula, issu du latin navicula (de navis, navire, barque, et -ula, petite), « petit bateau », en référence à la forme de cette diatomée.
