La glycérate kinase est une phosphotransférase qui catalyse la réaction :

ATP + D-glycérate  $\rightleftharpoons$  ADP + 3-phospho-D-glycérate.

Cette enzyme, présente chez des bactéries et des animaux, intervient également chez les plantes au sein des chloroplastes dans la photorespiration.
