Le mystère du couvent de Miermaigne

modifier

I see no mention of the convent existing during WWII. A two-part dwelling that functioned as orphanage and also housed old people. It was under the care of the Sisters of St Vincent de Paul. Located across the street from the church. Sewing was performed by the older girls, their work sold to people from the village and especially to one family that resided in the castle, nobles we were told. The young ones, as myself, attended the public school up the road as the sisters did not teach. The school had two teachers, a husband and wife, he alsso acted as the mayor. Or is this part of your history you want to forget?
