Religion: Est ce que c'est necessairement liée a la religion?: "Un bigot est une personne qui, ayant des préjugés dus en partie à sa religion - pratiquée de manière excessive -, est intolérante envers les opinions différentes des siennes." Le Wikipedia anglais n'inclut pas cela: "A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own." Et le Petit Robert en dit que: "bigot : Qui manifeste une devotion outrée et étroite" Hanschristoffer 27 septembre 2007 à 14:02 (CEST)
Interwikis modifier
The German article describes a phenomenon of "unreflected piety", the English article describes a phenomenon of "prejudice, bias" -- these are not identical. In French, the meaning seems to be in between these two -- a primarily religious-based sense of being right. Therefore, I am hesitant to remove the interwiki-link to German or to English. As long as the French article links to both, though, bots keep replacing the interwikis between English and German, even though there have been two subtle shifts in meaning resulting in a sufficiently large change in meaning to no longer warrant the interwiki-link. The Scandinavian languages have the same meaning as German. It may be true as the English page now says that "bigot" is vulgar Latin for "visigoth" in which case all Germanic peoples would be likely to put a different meaning to the word than the original Romanic sense. Thus, the French could be the original, a caricature of how Germanic peoples differ from Romans, and the Germanic (including Norman, and thus English) meanings would have to shift for the word to have some usefulness in those languages. However, since they all are the same word (compare vulgar, Bulgar, a word that entered through Greek and not Latin), it would be appropriate to cross link - but each article should point out that the meaning differs somewhat in other languages (a false friend). 24.127.208.87 (d) 10 juillet 2010 à 14:52 (CEST)
