modifierI have corrected this version because I have noticed that 'Salebot' has chosen to vandalize the article and delete sections without justifiable cause. The additional section 'critiques and accolades' is true, offering both points of view on an issue which is already debated in news media concerning the event. This just brings it together in the wikipedia article in order to complete the information. This is a public information space, not just a promotional venue for the Bal. It is the function of this wiki space that information be shared. Anyone is welcome to correct improper French if for any reason the English to French translation is incorrect, but deleting it is not acceptable. I am also surprised that it was not properly investigated by wiki staff before just returning it back to a version that is incomplete, and without contacting me in the email that is provided when I sign up. I have not removed anything, I am merely trying to keep the public informed as this is a subject of my research right now.
Furthermore, the citation offered in the reference seems to be incorrect. Whomever has posted it, should place a proper static citation (and not a dead link). As it appears now, the statement is false because it can not be verified. If it is still present in 30 days, I will delete or alter it in order to preserve the proper format of wikipedia. As of Jun 12- 14 the link to Le Bal website is also an empty link.
June 14 Remi Mathis has chosen to delete the section again. No explanation, and no proper marking of the page as disputed. Remi is showing bias and obviously is trying to promote the bal, not allow the public to understand the event from the viewpoint of the second pillar of wikipedia etiquette.
Cependant, sous l'effet des manifestations de 1968, la tradition s'est perdue, pour ne renaître qu'en 1991 et s'installer définitivement à l'Hôtel de Crillon.... this line suggests that it is a continuation of the same event but it is not. If it is, you should provide the proper citation. But since it is actually a promotional attempt by Mrs. Ophelie Renouard to create a new Parisian bal, known as 'le bal' it is not honest to suggest it is a continuation of the original. And there is no need, the current bal has 18 years of experience, it does not need to pose as if it is of the same tradition as other international debutante bals such as the esteemed one at the Waldorf-Astoria New York.
'est un des 10 évènements mondains internationaux [1]'. The quote, '10 top international events' is also questionable, the citation (improperly formatted) refers to a 'metro' article that has no citation to support it- the comment may well have come from the organizers themselves on a press release. Author should replace the text with a citation from an original source article of a third party assessment.
The remark on top celebrities is questionable, but the reader can decide for themselves how important Alain Delon is in 2008.
On review of the article, it is clear that it is a personal promotional page. Any attempts to make it an honest review of multiple viewpoints has been deliberately blocked without discussion which is inappropriate on Wikipedia.
The purpose of the critiques and accolades section is designed to round out the article without deleting the viewpoint that the organizers want to portray. This should be seen as more than fair. Short of that, the persistent deleting of information without discussion is inappropriate.
