Biography
modifierAntoinette Lubaki is the daughter of the chief of the village of Kabinda, located in the colonial province of Katanga, currently in the province of Lomami [2]. With her husband the ivory painter Albert Lubaki and the fashion designer Djilatento, she was part of the group of "Congo image makers", which is regarded as the first generation of modern Congolese painters made famous in Europe by the territorial agent Georges Thiry and the employee of the Ministry of Gaston-Denys Perier colonies[3],[4].
