Jean-François Gérault was born on April 22, 1961 in Auch, France. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the European Order of Mentalists.

In 2016, he published the book “Initiation au mentalisme, à l’hypnose et la mnémotechnie” (“Initiation to Mentalism, Hypnosis and Mnemonics”) 

He has also published the biographies of several writers and has written articles on hypnosis and mentalism.

Jean-François Gérault joins in 1994 the team of editors of the Year of the fiction (polar, S.F., fantastic, espionage) for the Encrage editions. -

In 1999 and 2000, he translated two fantastic novels by Wolfgang Hohlbein, The Mage of Salem and The Legacy of the Night. -

In 2000, he published a study on Jean-Patrick Manchette entitled "Jean-Patrick Manchette",  in Encrage / Les Belles Lettres. This book won the Maurice Renault 2001 prize from the association 813. Various French and even foreign newspapers reported on this first biography of Manchette. -

In 2003, he wrote a book on the Argentinean author Jorge Luis Borges: Jorge Luis Borges, another literature, Encrage / Les Belles lettres,

Afterwards, Jean-François Gérault for the Rivages editions translated from Spanish, from 2005 to 2010, three books by the Argentinian writer of black novels Raúl Argemí: The Big, the French and the Mouse , The Dead always lose Their shoes  and Patagonia tchou-tchou .

Since 1981, Jean-François Gérault practices hypnosis and mentalism in private evenings. He has written articles on mentalism in two specialized journals on this subject: the letter of the association Mental Arts Magie and The review of the conjuring. -

In 2012, he obtained his certification as a technician in Ernst Hypnosis at the French Institute of Humanist and Erichsonian Hypnosis. He then trained in street hypnosis with the Institut Arche Hypnose in 2014 under the supervision of Bertrand Millet, a master hypnosis practitioner. -
