English: President Benigno Simeon Aquino III meets with Her Excellency Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, during the Courtesy Call at the Ramos Room, Malacañan Palace for the Official Visit to the Republic of the Philippines Thursday January 19, 2012. The visit is one of the highlights of the 63rdanniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Thailand, which is being commemorated this year. It is also the first visitto the country of Thailand's first lady leader since she assumed her post in August 2011. President Aquino and PM Shinawatra will exchange views on bilateral and regional issues that are of mutual interest to both countries, including bolstering economic engagement between the two countries. They will also discuss ways to further strengthen the implementation of existing cooperation in the areas of energy, agriculture, defense, culture, education, combating drug trafficking and disaster risk reduction and management, among others.
