Description
Deutsch: „Fig. 6. Böhmische Königskrone auch >>Wenzelskrone<< genannt. Im Jahre 1347 ließ Blanca von Valois, die Gemahlin Kaiser Karl IV., nach dem Muster der alten französischen Königskrone und mit Benützung des Materials der bömischen [sic!] Herzogskrone aus der Zeit Wenzel des heiligen eine eigenen böhmische Königskrone anfertigen. Sie besteht aus vier, durch Charniere verbundenen Teilen. Im Kreuze ist eine Reliquie, ein Dorn der Krone Christi, untergebracht. Das Kronenhäubchen kam erst später hinzu. Die Krone ruht im Kronschatz zu St. Veit in Prag.“
