Description

Description
English: The former Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (known in Chinese as Zhen Yuan Tang [眞原堂; lit. 'Cathedral of the True Origin (of Everything)']) at Tatsienlu, built by Jean-Baptiste Ouvrard. Construction was completed in August 1912. The cathedral was demolished during the Cultural Revolution. In 1997, a crappy, "plastic" church building bearing the same name was built on the original site, which can be seen here. Source: 1 (fr), 2 (zh-hans), 3 (zh-hans), 4 (zh-hans).
