A fascinating film of this character was made by theGaumont establishment under the title of The Siren.A beautiful woman was observed to be swimming anddiving in the watery depths with various fish as hercompanions. Her movements were so graceful and naturalthat it seemed impossible for them to have been producedwhile the actress was suspended from the flies by theaid of wires. How was it done ? was an expression I heardon several occasions during projection in the picturepalaces. The solution is very simple. In the first place, a large aquarium was set upon thestage.
