English: The German submarine U-662 under attack by a U.S. Navy Consolidated PBY-5 Catalina of Patrol Squadron 94 (VP-94), just north of the Amazonas delta, Brazil, 20 July 1943. Pilot of the Catalina was Lieutenant Junior Grade S.E. Aslander. The boat was sunk on the following day by another plane of VP-94, three crewmembers survived, 44 died. |
