English: Arboretum up to 5 meters high. Woody, glabrous branches. Leaves vertical, leathery, sessile, elliptical to oblanceolate, attenuated base, entire margin. Terminal inflorescence, cimosa. Its popular name gave rise to the name of the municipality Mucugê. It occurs in the Amazon region and also between the coast of Bahia and Chapada Diamantina. In Mucugê, can be found mainly along the Piabinha River and banks of other rivers of the place. Its fruits are very tasty.
Português: Arvoreta de até 5 metros de altura. Ramos lenhosos, glabros. Folhas verticiladas, coriáceas, sésseis, elípticas a oblanceoladas, base atenuada, margem inteira. Inflorescência terminal, cimosa. Seu nome popular deu origem ao nome do município Mucugê. Ocorre na região amazônica e também entre o litoral da Bahia e a Chapada Diamantina. Em Mucugê, pode ser encontrada principalmente ao longo do Rio Piabinha e margens de outros rios do local. Seus frutos são muito saborosos. |
