Tagalog: Isinilang si Nicanor Abelardo sa pook na ito ng San Miguel, Bulakan, noong ika-7 ng Pebrero, 1893, anak na panganay nina Valentin Abelardo at Placida Sta. Ana. Nagtapos ng musika sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas noong 1921 at sa Chicago Musical College noong 1932. Sa bisa ng kanyang matitimyas na kundiman at mga himig na naglalarawan ng katutubong tanawin, si Abelardo ay tinaguriang “Makata ng Tugtugin” at kinikilalang pinakadakilang mangangatha ng tugtugin sa Pilipinas. Sa kanyang mga tugtugin ay lalong natampok ang “Nasaan ka Irog” at “Mutya ng Pasig.”
