עברית: מספר דב: "ב- 24 לחודש יולי 1943 יצאנו מטוברוק לטריפולי מסע של 1000 ק"מ. חויה יהודית מיוחדת ומרגשת הייתה לי בעת ביקור שערכנו בטיגרינה, ישוב יהודי של שוכני מערות במרחק של 10 שעות נסיעה מטריפולי דרומה. עד שלא הגענו ממש למקום לא ראינו בשטח כל סימן לישוב . כשהגענו גילינו שהכפר כלו שוכן בבורות בעומק כ 10 מטרים ובקוטר כמה עשרות מ ' שנחפרו בסלע רך של גבעה נמוכה רחבת ממדים. ירדנו אל אחד הבורות במדרגות שנחפרו בצלעו אל תחתיתו שנראתה כככר עגולה, ומסביבה זו בצד זו דירות נאות נחפרו בקירות הבור.היינו מופתעים לידיעת העברית הטובה של יהודי המקום, והם ספרו לנו שעד פרוץ המלחמה היה במקום מורה מהארץ והלמודים בבית הספר היו בעברית. הפתענו גם מגודל הדירות ותכולתן, שהעידה על רמת חיים טובה, ועל הנקיון המופתי ששרר בהן. אנשי הכפר ספרו לנו שצורת החיים שלהם המתקיימת מדורות, נבחרה גם מטעמי בטחון וגם מטעמיהתגוננות בפני החם הכבד השורר באזור החצי מדברי שלהם. את פרנסתם הם מוצאים מחקלאות מסחר ומלאכה". - דב ירמיה
