Lua modifier

Dear Kozuch,

Thanks for your message on our “Village Pump”. I'm definitely interested in converting some local templates to Lua and developping some new ones we've told people to wait for since Lua is being talked about.

I'm knowledgeable about programming languages in general and I've already played with Scribunto last year during the Berlin hackathon.

Hello. For french people I started this page: Utilisateur:Hexasoft/Lua. It is in french and it tries to explain Lua programmation, notes, limits, tips…
French user Rical also created mw:User:Rical/We use Lua on which page we starting to gather our experiments.
I'm interested in details about the way Scribunto will be activated, the dates, the restrictions…

Hello Kozuch, I am interrested too. -Ash - (Æ) 2 février 2013 à 12:09 (CET)Répondre
My interest is for french wikisource, in test2. First about Module_talk:mathRoman to convert roman numbers to decimal and reverse, with errors messages.
And now about header of Author pages made by Module:Author, with a multilingual object to easy manage Arguments, their coherence and their errors.
I also created and update Scribunto Deployment.
In old scribunto.wmflabs.org there are some treasures to keep. A table of phonetics of Vietnam from User:Mxn, and many others which are waiting to use. --Rical (d) 3 février 2013 à 02:10 (CET)Répondre

Scribunto extension roll out planned for February 18 modifier

Wikimedia Foundation has been working on improving the performance and adding features to template pages within MediaWiki. As a result of this WMF developed a new Scribunto extension for MediaWiki which enables Lua scripting language for templates. The developers are confident about the extension's maturity and it was decided that Scribunto is going to be deployed to this wiki in the first batch. The deployment will begin on February 18 and will simply add a feature. Please be so kind and spread the word about the deployment on your wiki. If you are interested in converting current templates to Lua, please see more information and submit your feedback to Lua page on Meta. Regards, Kozuch (d) 13 février 2013 à 18:58 (CET)Répondre
