On m'a dit que quelqu'un avait essayé de me contrarier... Ce « quelqu'un » a eu un regrettable accident.

Ayant atteint ma vitesse de croisière, je me tiens strictement à l'entretien, la maintenance des divers articles que j'ai pu créer ou enrichir de façon significative, dont vous avez les listes ci-après. Il y a de quoi m’occuper jusqu'à ma mort. Ponctuellement je créerai des articles pour supprimer des liens rouges pour des articles labellisables. Procédures de labellisation que je laisse aux autres contributeurs qui auront l'amabilité de se pencher sur les articles en avancement A, pour les améliorer, d'avance grand merci.

Note : je ne traduis jamais les articles de la WP anglophone, car l’expérience m'a montré qu'ils étaient parfois bâclés, orientés idéologiquement, qu'ils n'étaient pas réactualisés, souvent les sources renvoyaient à des liens morts, ayant du temps car étant à la retraite, je peux avoir le luxe de rédiger les articles à partir de sources encyclopédiques et secondaires de qualité, accessibles en ligne et à partir de la Wikipedia Library. Cela dit, l'importation d'articles de la WP anglophone ont le mérite de créer un article, mais il faut bien se dire que ces articles comme cela est mentionné dépendent du travail des contributeurs anglophones et ne pas oublier que les critères d'admissibilité de la WP anglophone sont plus que souples, ils n'ont pas la rigueur de notre WP francophone.

Mener si possible les articles créés jusqu'à l'avancement en A avant que je ne disparaisse... à 73 ans, il faut y penser, Valar Morghulis... LOL. Accroche toi papi !

Culture et histoire américaine et afro-américaine modifier

Maîtrisant bien l'anglais, quasiment bilingue, je contribue principalement sur les sujets touchant l'histoire des États-Unis, la culture américaine, la culture afro-américaine et l'histoire des Afro-Américains, domaines trop souvent réduits au cinéma et à la musique, faisant l'impasse sur des auteurs, poètes, peintres, sculpteurs, philosophes, essayistes de premier plan ainsi que des contributions médicales et scientifiques comme l'opération de la cataracte par laser de Patricia Bath, la première opération à cœur ouvert par Daniel Hale Williams, la première lampe à incandescence par Lewis H. Latimer, le Bus des pc, etc...

Articles consacrés à des femmes modifier

Féministe convaincu depuis maintenant 50 ans je suis attentif à créer ou enrichir des articles concernant des femmes principalement américaines. La parité n'existera jamais car pendant trop longtemps les femmes dans toutes les grandes civilisations du monde ont été injustement écartées de la vie sociale, culturelle, scientifique économique, mais au moins faisons de sorte que toutes les femmes qui ont un intérêt encyclopédique puissent avoir leurs pages avec des contenus dignes d'elles. Il y a de quoi faire il suffit de consulter la monumentale encyclopédies en 17 volumes consacrés aux femmes Cf. : 3.14.17 La Women in world history : a biographical encyclopedia en 17 volumes (1999) et autres encyclopédies dédiées aux femmes Cf. : 3.14 Pour les femmes .

Sources encyclopédiques et manuels américains de référence modifier

  • En premier bien entendu l'Encyclopædia Britannica qui fait des offres graduées d'abonnement selon vos besoins, l'avantage de cette encyclopédie à laquelle je suis abonné, c'est qu'elle réactualise systématiquement ses articles en fonction de l'actualité entre 12 à 20 réactualisation / jours...
  • Encyclopedia.com dont les articles sont rédigés par des universitaire travaillant pour l'Oxford University Press et de la Columbia University Press, entre autres, les articles sont régulièrement réactualisés, mais attention pour lire la dernière réactualisation il faut dérouler l'ensemble du texte, les différentes versions de l'articles se succédant sur une même page, il faut également faire attention, parfois, une même personne bénéficie d'un article à l'entête de son prénom suivi de son nom et d'un autre article à l'entête de son nom suivi de son prénom.

L'avantage de ces encyclopédies "locales" c'est qu'elle sont non seulement rédigées par des universitaires, mais surtout qu'elles s'appuient sur des archives locales et citent des faits qu'on ne rencontre pas ailleurs.

  • si les dernières notices sont inaccessibles car payantes et surtout les abonnements sont réservés aux américains, j'ai essayé en vain d'avoir un abonnement. En revanche vous pouvez accéder aux éditionsde 1999 de l'ANB en vous rendant sur le site suivant https://archive.org/search.php?query=American%20National%20Biography. Il faut être patient pour trouver la rubrique qui vous intéresse dans l'un des 24 volumes de l'ANB. Attention Archive.org, indique à tort des dates d’éditions de 1990, or c'est faux, il s'agit de 1999 comme l'indique les premières pages de chaque volume

Notices autorité RERO modifier

Il faut remplacer vtls par 02-A suivi des numéros qui suivent vlts si il s'agit d'un auteur, exemple 02-A002995335, et par 01-R si il s'agit d'une œuvre. S'il commence par A il faut juste ajouter 02- devant.

Notices autorité LNB (Bibliothèque nationale de Lettonie) modifier

Pour renseigner la rubrique LNB, se rendre sur le viaf et cliquer sur le drapeau lettonien de la personne concernée et se rendre à la ligne 801 et copier le numéro qui suit ‡a LT ‡b LNB ‡c et le coller sur le modèle autorité à la rubrique LNB.

Poète ou poétesse ? modifier

Le terme de poétesse est considéré par le Grand Robert comme un terme péjoratif, quasiment l'équivalent de poètasse, (Cf. article poétesse), le guide du Bon Usage de Grévisse (art, 486b) écrit la même chose et dit qu'il ne s'agit que d'une tolérance. Pourquoi avoir déterré un mot du vieux français qui était tombé en désuétude lors du XIX° siècle à cause justement de sa connotation péjorative. Aussi, dit-on en saine règle littéraire "une femme poète", "une telle poète", "une poète"... Ici le "E" final de poète permet d'utiliser "poète" selon un genre féminin, c'est un mot épicène, tout comme pour le mot "peintre", on dit une peintre pas une peintresse, ou pour le mot "philosophe", imaginez que l'on dise philosophesse... ou pour enfant, on dit une ou un enfant et non pas une enfante ou pire une infantesse. Cela dit, pour Wikipédia, il est nécessaire de faire des catégories, aussi pour une facilité de classification, on utilise la catégorie "poétesse". Par conséquent ne faut-il pas distinguer le corps de texte où on qualifie une femme en tant que poète et les catégories où telle auteure sera dans celle de poétesse ? distinction entre le style littéraire et une catégorie qui relève de la technique documentaire.

Rappel sur la neutralité modifier

La neutralité de point de vue, signifie que les articles ne doivent pas promouvoir de point de vue particulier. Parfois, cela suppose de décrire plusieurs points de vue et de représenter chacun de ces points de vue aussi fidèlement que possible, en tenant compte de leur importance respective dans le champ des savoirs. Cela suppose également de fournir le contexte nécessaire à la compréhension de ces points de vue selon les sources qui les portent, et de ne représenter aucun point de vue comme étant la vérité ou le meilleur point de vue.

Dans une encyclopédie vous devez renoncer à vos opinions personnelles, sur une page de WP les contributeurs doivent s'en tenir à ce que des sources secondaires de qualité disent sur tel ou tel événement, personne, sujet, etc... Cela dans un souci de neutralité, équilibrer les points de vue sans prendre parti Cf. Wikipédia:Neutralité de point de vue.

Neutralité non béate, exemple laisser dire que c'est au lecteur de se faire une opinion pour savoir si le Ku Klux Klan serait une entreprise terroriste et raciste est stupide, car contrevient au fait que le KKK lui même revendique son racisme et ses actes de terrorisme et que les faits sont là pour conclure qu'il s'agit d'un groupe raciste, terroriste, etc... En revanche qualifier les membres du KKK de péquenots, têtes vides, abrutis et autres noms d'oiseaux ou de défenseurs du style de vie sudiste, c'est interdit !

Vous pouvez tout dire sur un sujet mais en respectant une règle fondamentale une assertion doit être étayée par une source secondaire de qualité et pas de Jugement personnel, même si ça démange !

Vous pouvez citer les jugements formulés par des sources secondaires de qualité mais toujours en écrivant Selon X, D'après Y, Pour Z ....

Les choix de création de pages ou d’enrichissement de page sur WP se font bien évidemment selon ses préférences, mais toujours en suivant les principes, règles et recommandations de WP jamais selon ses opinions.

La neutralité ne veut pas dire qu'il faille vis à vis de sujet tels que la Shoah ou la ségrégation raciale en Afrique du Sud ou aux États-Unis donner des points de vue qui sont condamnés par la loi et aux données historiques, comme par exemple laisser penser que les Lois Jim Crow ou l'Apatheid ou l'antisémitisme pourraient être légitimes sous prétexte que c'est au lecteur de se faire son idée... En revanche sur les explications des causes de la Shoah, de l'esclavage aux États-Unis on peut exposer les divers points de vue d'historiens appartenant à différentes écoles d'historiographie (positivistes, marxistes, systémiques, phénoménologiques, statistiques, etc.). Ainsi présenter un article sur la guerre de Sécession du seul point de vue de l'historiographie marxiste ou post marxiste ne respecterait pas le principe de neutralité, tout comme présenter ce conflit du seul point de vue de l’histoire des idées abolitionnistes où on ne mettrait l'accent que sur le rôle des quakers, des méthodistes et autres mouvements religieux anti-esclavagistes. Ces deux points de vue doivent s'équilibrer avec d'autres écoles historiographiques

De même pour le platisme ou le complotisme, on ne peut laisser penser qu'ils puissent avoir de quelconque légitimité au nom d'une neutralité dévoyée. Le platisme est contraire aux faits établis par l'astronomie (depuis l'antiquité européenne, chinoise, précolombienne ) et par l’astrophysique, le complotisme est une mythologie paranoïaque élaborée par l'abbé Barruel faisant de la révolution française un complot ourdi par la franc-maçonnerie et les Juifs, mythologie qui va donner naissance aux complots judéo-bolchevique, judéo-maçonnique, au complot du Nouvel Ordre Mondial de la Nouvelle chronologie et autres billevesées contraires aux faits, nouveaux masques de l'antisémitisme, etc.

C'est pour cela dans un esprit encyclopédique la neutralité suppose une écriture factuelle, descriptive sans prise de partie et conforme à la loi et aux faits visant à montrer la complexité des sujets abordés, de laisser ouverts les questionnements, que toutes les réponses sont provisoires et jamais définies une fois pour toute. Respecter la neutralité c'est respecter l'exigence scientifique.

Notices d'autorité modifier

Il me semble qu'il faudrait être clair sur la définition des notices d'autorité tels que les professionnels le font. Cet article est une bonne base pour entamer un débat en dehors des opinions des uns et autres. Il y a également cet article qui complète le précédent en montrant de façon précise comment est rédigée une notice d'autorité http://documentation.abes.fr/sudoc/doc/Formateur_relais/09-Autorites.pdf .

Pourquoi les notices d'autorité ? Les notices sont dites d'autorité car rédigées sous l'autorité d'une bibliothèque nationale selon des normes précises mais ne font aucunement autorité. Demandez à un bibliothécaire de votre médiathèque régionale il vous dira comment sont rédigées les notices d'autorité... elles sont rédigées d'après les quatrième de couverture des livres reçus ! D'où des erreurs comme j'ai pu souvent en remarquer sur les dates, ou des omissions majeures. Bref le dernier endroit où chercher des données biographiques ou bibliographiques est bien les notices dite d'autorité, si je veux connaître l'ensemble des oeuvres publiées par un auteur je me rends sur le site WorldCat 100 000 fois plus exhaustif que n'importe laquelle des notices d'autorité. Ne devons-nous pas être en cohérence avec la nature des notices telles que les professionnels (bibliothécaires) en parlent et non selon des opinions des uns ou des autres ?
