Tucker Martine (né le 14 janvier 1972) est un producteur de disques, musicien et compositeur américain. En 2010, Martine a rejoint la liste de Paste Magazine des 10 meilleurs producteurs de la décennie.

Tucker Martine, fils du chanteur et compositeur Layng Martine, Jr.[style à revoir] [1] grandit à Nashville, Tennessee, où il joue dans des groupes et expérimente avec des appareils d'enregistrement[style à revoir]. Il déménage à Boulder, Colorado après avoir obtenu son diplôme d'études secondaires. DJ dans la radio publique KGNU, Il passe fréquemment deux disques ou plus à la fois sur les ondes.[pas clair]. Martine a également suit également des cours à l'Institut Naropa où il a étudie le collage sonore et se lie d'amitié avec Harry Smith - l'ethnomusicologue, artiste et kabbaliste, qui aura une grande influence sur lui.
Carrière modifier
En 1993, Martine a déménagé à Seattle, dans l'État de Washington, où il a commencé à combiner ses compétences et ses intérêts[pas clair][non neutre]. Il a rejoint le groupe de chambre de Wayne Horvitz, The 4 Plus 1 Ensemble, aux côtés de Reggie Watts, où l'instrument de Martine était une série de dispositifs de bouclage et de manipulation du son[pas clair], alimentés par les autres instruments acoustique du groupe[style à revoir]. Martine a reçu une nomination aux Grammy en 2007 dans la catégorie "meilleur album d'ingénierie" pour l'album Floratone avec Bill Frisell sur Blue Note. Il a également sorti plusieurs albums de ses enregistrements de terrain. En tant que compositeur et musicien, Martine a sorti deux albums sous le pseudonyme d'enregistrement Mount Analog ainsi que Mylab (une collaboration avec le claviériste Wayne Horvitz) et Orchestra Dim Bridges (avec l'altiste Eyvind Kang). De plus, Microsoft a fait appel à la créativité de Martine[non neutre] lorsqu'ils lui ont demandé d'aider à composer les sons de démarrage et de marque pour le nouveau système d'exploitation de Microsoft Vista[2]. Aujourd'hui, Martine vit à Portland et continue de faire des disques dans son propre studio Flora Recording & Playback.
