° Faht.! In the afternoon, the Jovial Man and theSpy arrived with meat, bread, and other things just at theright time, and soon afterwards it left off raining. With theexception of about twelve hours in all, it has rained continu-ously from the night of the 10th until now. At 4 p.m. mistscleared away a little, and at 5 we saw Sara-urcu. Got itsbearing and sketched it.2 In a few minutes the mountain wasinvisible again. Arranged for a forced march to-morrow. All the reeds round about our platform at the base of thecliff had been cut or beaten down, so that the view should notbe impeded.
