English: The Cemetery of Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans, Hautes Alpes, France. In the foreground the graves of Dr. Emil Zsigmondy (AT) and Ernest Thorant (FR), two well known mountaineers who died at the Meije (3.983 m) at the end of the 19th century. Pierre Gaspard, who made the first ascent of La Meije, is buried here, too. Picture was taken on 17/07/2010.
Deutsch: Der Bergsteigerfriedhof von Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans in den zentralen Dauphiné-Alpen in Frankreich (Hautes Alpes). Im Vordergrund die Gräber der bekannten Alpinisten Dr. Emil Zsigmondy (Österreich) und Ernest Thorant (Frankreich), die beide im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert an der Meije ums Leben kamen. Auch Pierre Gaspard, Erstbesteiger der Meije, fand hier seine letzte Ruhestätte. Die Aufnahme entstand am 17. Juli 2010. |
