Google Street View modifier

You have recently been filling this article with information based on this page. Although, it is quite inaccurate, first of all, the entire Dominican Republic Street View was added in 2019 (1)(2)(3). Just like the different routes in Colombia and Brazil were added to Street View in 2019, not 2020 (1) (2) (3). The only thing that is accurate is that in the southern part of Turkey new cities were added to Street View during March 2020 (1)(2)(3). Secondly, it would be better if the reference information was written and not an image, as the locations should be specified in the reference to avoid confusion.--JSeb05 (discuter) 23 mars 2021 à 13:52 (CET)Répondre

The dates are the days when Google published the pictures on Street View, not when the pictures were taken. There is always a delay between capturing and publishing pictures. So Dominican Republic coverage was taken in 2018-2019 but only published in June 2020. This is how the updates are listed in this article (and the English equivalent) since the beginning back in 2007. Otherwise the first update would be listed as 2005 since the very first pictures of San Francisco and Los Angeles were taken this year (before being removed). About listing the additions this can be done. I agree it's not always simple to get the good blue line on Google Maps especially when the additions are limited to a few new roads. It makes sense, in different sources the same thing happens. Anyway, you could at least specify well on the page, regarding the locations that are added, since I tried to add the source of this image but it was not accepted for the following reasons, first, the reference must specify which locations were added. Second, the map must have at least the names of the cities and towns that were added to Street View. Third, the date on which these Street View images were published must be clarified. Take this reference as an example, in it indicated which are the places of the street view having an example image and with an exact date, this is the basic standard that the references must have so that they can be in the English article.--JSeb05 (discuter) 23 mars 2021 à 22:57 (CET)Répondre

Museums modifier

Hello, in the English Wikipedia, it was decided that the information about Street View in Museums will be included in the Google Arts and Culture page. This has already been done in the Spanish article. So this rule should also apply to the French article, so if you are going to add information about museums that have google street view, please put this information in the corresponding article.--JSeb05 (discuter) 28 mars 2021 à 19:41 (CEST)Répondre

Hello, the Google Arts & Culture pages are indeed a different kind of project, however they can sometimes include official Google Street View imagery. If it can be accessed by the Street View layer of Google Maps (which is the case for the Mus'X museum added in the latest update for example) then it is also part of Google Street View. I don't think something prevents listing the addition in both pages. — Le message qui précède, non signé, a été déposé par KillerMapper (discuter), le 28 mars 2021 à 22:51 (CEST)Répondre
@KillerMapper The problem is that this was discussed on the talk page of the article in English, an agreement was reached, in which all content related to museums would be placed on the Google Arts & Culture page, I tried to argue that the street view of the museums should be added on the page but they were rejected, based on the argument that the sources given specifically that the museums had been added to Google Arts & Culture, it was also argued that the technology used for the Museums is different from the street view of cities or other types of places, you can argue in the talk page of the article but you have to give reliable sources in addition to having valid arguments that indicate that this information should be included. At the moment, a consensus was reached that the information should be added in different articles.--JSeb05 (discuter) 28 mars 2021 à 23:11 (CEST)Répondre

Recommendation modifier

Hello again, the content you added to the Google Street View page cannot be included in first, because it is Original Research and that is not allowed within Wikipedia, as well as the references you added are considered as "Self Published Source", which does not make them valid. I recommend that if you are going to add this content go to this wiki, which meets the necessary standards to publish this type of content, plus it is much easier to edit and add information.--JSeb05 (discuter) 29 mars 2021 à 01:12 (CEST)Répondre

It is clear that Wikipedia is not the best platform for this and I agree about adding the data somewhere else. I will now stop maintaining this page and will switch to another place. — Le message qui précède, non signé, a été déposé par KillerMapper (discuter), le 29 mars 2021 à 19:12 (CEST)Répondre
KillerMapper : I already added your tool to the Google Street View page in the Geoguessr wiki, I also added a Sandbox page, I can also help you to translate the articles in English and Spanish, if you have any doubt, you can send me a message through this page.--JSeb05 (discuter) 29 mars 2021 à 21:46 (CEST)Répondre

Google Street View Checker modifier

Hi, I already moved the information from the Wikipedia article to the Geoguessr Wiki, the question is how can you determine which are the updates and which are the new places that have street view? how does this tool work?--JSeb05 (discuter) 1 avril 2021 à 15:39 (CEST)Répondre
