Alia Bhatt, née le à Bombay (Maharashtra), est une actrice et chanteuse britannique d'origine indienne.
Elle connait le succès grâce à son second film, Student of the Year, de Karan Johar. Elle a ensuite reçu des critiques positives pour ses rôles de 2014 dans Highway, le road movie d'Imtiaz Ali, et dans le drame romantique 2 States. En 2014 également, Daily News and Analysis parle d'elle comme de l'une des nouvelles venues les plus prometteuses de Bollywood[1].

Famille et jeunesse modifier
Alia Bhatt naît à Bombay dans l'état du Maharashtra, le [2],[3],[4]. Elle est la fille du réalisateur Mahesh Bhatt[5] et de l'actrice Soni Razdan[6],[7]. Son père est d'origine goujarati et sa mère est d'ascendance cachemirienne et anglo-allemande. Son grand-père paternel est le réalisateur Nanabhai Bhatt (en). Elle a une sœur aînée, Shaheen, née en 1988[8] et deux demi-frères et sœurs, Pooja Bhatt et Rahul Bhatt. L'acteur Amir Khan et le réalisateur Mohit Suri sont ses cousins maternels, tandis que le producteur Mukesh Bhatt (en) est son oncle.
Alia Bhatt a étudié à l'école Jamnabai Narsee à Mumbai.
Carrière modifier
En 1999, Alia Bhatt obtient son premier rôle dans Sangharsh, un remake du Silence des agneaux, aux côtés d'Akshay Kumar et de Preity Zinta où elle interprète l'héroïne du film plus jeune[9].
