Campaigns Ambassador Contractor Opening For African French, Arabic And Swahili Speakers

The Campaigns Team at the Wikimedia Foundation is excited to announce that it seeks a Campaigns Ambassador with experience working in the French, Arabic or Swahili Wikipedia communities in Africa.

The campaign ambassador will work with our product and programs team in providing support and advising to campaign organizers and improve the campaign organizing journey. The Campaigns Ambassador will be supporting the rollout of tools and features to support campaign organizers, in the communities we are building for.

Hoax article

Hello everyone. I wanted to bring to your attention the article Boe, l'elfe joueur de bowling, which constitutes a hoax. AFD request

Hi. A sockpuppet group creates fr:Jacky_Liew_(Shi_Gongzi) on a bunch of wiki projects without disclosing conflict of interest ([1][2]). Almost all of its sources are press releases / advertorials or en:WP:PRIMARY which cannot prove actual notability. It has been deleted on zhwiki and enwiki via deletion discussion with detailed analysis, even though discussions were disturbed by multiple sockpuppets. I suppose it might not meet the basic notability requirements here as well. I kindly ask an editor to help start a deletion discussion on this project. Allowing Wikitext editors to preview changes in realtime

Community Tech has ntroduced a new beta feature. It allows editors to preview their changes side by side when writing in wikitext. The goal is to make it easier to review changes while editing. This was the wish number four of the Community Wishlist Survey 2021.

What does this feature change?

In the 2010 wikitext editor toolbar, a new button appears with the label “Preview”. The button enables a side by side comparison showing what the published content would look like. You can see an illustrative example on the screenshot.

We would like to check if the editing experience improves. If it does, we will make this change available for everyone by default.

What do I need to do?

If you want to try out our feature, make sure the New Wikitext mode beta feature is DISABLED. Feel free to provide feedback about the impact this new feature has on your editing experience.

French page: remuneration and sources notice

Hello! In this French page there are two red notices that I cannot seem to resolve: one is concerning disclosure of remuneration and another on the lack of sources. I have addressed both of these by disclosing in the Discussion page who is behind it (as I read in an instructions page from Wikipedia) and added more sources, yet the notices are still there. Could anyone please advice what I need to do? I consulted with the general Wikipedia HelpDesk but they said I should consult with the French Wikipedia. Deletion procedure

Hi, I just wanted to check if there is any formal deletion procedure on French Wikipedia or articles may be deleted immediately by more experienced editors? Specifically, I noticed that my article on Tragovi: revue pour les sujets serbes et croates was deleted as unreferenced (there were 6 specific references) and without citing any major language issues. I believe you should be able to check the deleted version of the article as it was before that move. The corresponding reference article in English may be en:Tragovi: Journal for Serbian and Croatian Topics. Just wanted to check the practice since the decision was a bit surprising, particularly taking into account that there was no any formal proposal to delete the article which could be discussed by the rest of community.--MirkoS18 (discuter) 26 décembre 2022 à 16:13 (CET)

@MirkoS18 Hello, on the French Wikipédia, administrators can speedy delete ("suppression immédiate") articles which look like they obviously do not meet the admissibility threshold. You can ask for the article to be created again here: Wikipédia:Demande de restauration de page, by providing secondary sources centered on this academic journal. As I do not have access to the version you wrote in French, and I cannot read serbo-croatian, it's difficult to judge the sources on the English article. Hope this is helpful!
