La liste des chansons jugées inappropriées par Clear Channel Communications à la suite des attentats du est un document distribué par Clear Channel Communications aux quelque 1 200 stations de radio détenues par la compagnie, peu après les attentats du 11 septembre 2001, présentant un grand nombre de chansons aux paroles jugées douteuses[1].

Peu de temps après les attentats, de nombreuses stations de radio et de chaînes télévisées bouleversèrent leurs programmes, et une rumeur se répandit, prétendant que Clear Channel et ses filiales avaient établi une liste de « chansons aux paroles douteuses » que les chaînes et stations ne devraient plus diffuser depuis ces attentats. La liste fut rendue publique par la lettre d'information Hits Daily Double, qui n'a aucun lien avec Clear Channel[2]. Le site Snopes, consacré aux légendes urbaines, effectua des recherches sur le sujet et conclut que la liste existait, mais qu'il s'agissait en fait d'une recommandation adressée aux stations radio, et qu'il ne s'agissait pas d'une interdiction totale de diffuser ces chansons[3].

La liste contient 166 chansons, dont toutes celles de Rage Against the Machine, ainsi que différentes versions d'une même chanson interprétée par plusieurs artistes (comme Knockin' on Heaven's Door de Bob Dylan, la reprise des Guns N' Roses étant également présente dans la liste). Dans certains cas en revanche, seules certaines versions sont présentes dans la liste, comme la reprise de la chanson Smooth Criminal par le groupe Alien Ant Farm, alors que l'originale de Michael Jackson n'y figure pas ; a contrario la chanson Last Kiss de J. Frank Wilson y figure, alors que la reprise par Pearl Jam y est quant à elle absente[4].

Clear Channel nia l'existence d'une telle liste lors d'une conférence de presse pour Radio Ink, bien que la compagnie ait déjà admis l'avoir distribuée[5].

La liste fut l'objet de l'attention des médias américains au moment de sa diffusion[3].
