in Jerusalem and never without absorbinginterest. The annexed reproduction of a photographshows the faces of some of the mourners, as well as theirmode of dress and general appearance. The picture is sowell executed that the faces would be easily recognizableby any one acquainted with the originals. At one timeduring a visit to the Jews wailing place we counted onehundred and thirty-five men and women collected at thewall mourning over their beloved city. It is a sad sight,and although we visited the place a number of times wenever went there without feeling deeply impressed with thezeal and devotion of the Jews. The massive stones, hewn out of the mountain andplaced in the wall by Solomons builders, are clearlybrought out in the picture. A curious custom prevailsamong the Jews who visit this place. Each one tries todrive a nail or a bit of old iron into the joints between thestones, and they have succeeded in driving thousands ofnails into the wall. Whether this custom grows out of a

The custom prevails and it is curious in itsway. Many times is the question asked as to the future ofthe Jews. Will a remnant of Israel be saved? We do notpropose to discuss this question. Volumes have beenwritten upon it, and some difference of opinion obtainsamong those who have given the subject thought andstudy. The belief that a remnant of Israel will be restoredis based on the prophecies of the Old and upon what issaid in the New Testament on the subject. In the formerfrequent reference is made to the saving of Israel, and theMaster in speaking of Jerusalem says it shall be troddendown of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles befulfilled.!. And Paul refers to the same thing when hesays that blindness in part is happened to Israel, untilthe fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israelshall be saved: as it
