The bulla is of typical form, being discoidal and having a vertical perforation, in which the cord for tying up the document would have been located. The obverse bears the relief-moulded heads of St. Peter (right) and St. Paul (left), who face inwards, each surrounded by a beaded curve and probably separated from one another by the shaft of a central cross, although, due to the level of wear, this is not visible. The legend 'SPASPE' ('Saint Paul and St. Peter') extends horizontally above the two heads. On the reverse is the legend, also in relief, which reads 'BONI/FATIVS/PP(omega above).VIII'. The obverse and reverse images are set at 12 o'clock to one another.
