English: This panoramic view of Edinburgh from Calton Hill to the North was probably drafted around 1690. The engraved version here was dedicated to Queen Anne and is referred to as the 'Queen Anne View'. Edinburgh appears here as a long single street, sloping right to left from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood. Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat are in the left background. |
