DescriptionColorful formation on the way to the White Domes (8286981568).jpg
Valley of Fire State Park is one of the coolest parks I have ever visited - it is about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. I have been there several times in the past, usually on bright sunny and hot days. This time was different - I hit the park as a winter storm was clearing in December 2012. It was very cold and windy, even for an Alaskan. The rain had just stopped and it looked like more was on the way. I expected the worst but everything turned out great - the clouds really brought out the colors, and some sun breaks (very few) really helped the lighting. I had the park to myself for about 4 hours - there were very few people out and about. Wow - what a great day!
This sounds odd but I dedicated this folder to a young lass in LV named Leah - she is a brilliant redhead that I was lucky enough to shoot with twice on this trip, and at prior Renaissance Festivals; she is a lovely redhead, great personality - both wild and serene, and very curvy - just like the roads and landscape at Valley of Fire. She is just an all around great person and she really encouraged me to go to the park despite the weather - thanks Leah
