Description
English: A Roman silver denarius of Trajan (AD98-117), dating AD 114-117. Reece period 5. PARTHICO reverse, Fortuna seated left, holding rudder and cornucopiae. Minted in Rome.
The Romans gave thanks to the goddess Fortuna Redux in celebration of the succesful return of an emperor from distant provinces. Coins were struck with this inscription to celebrate the Emperors return.
