- Certains wikis disposent des boutons d’édition de page fournis par OOjs UI, plus gros et plus brillants que les boutons habituels. Lorsque vous écrivez un résumé de modification avec cette interface, le nombre d’octets restants avant que le résumé soit trop long est maintenant affiché. [1]
- Lorsque vous effectuez une recherche sur Wikipédia, des pages des autres projets Wikimédia qui peuvent s’y rapporter sont désormais affichées. Elles sont placées à côté des résultats de recherche. [2]

Changements à venir
- Il sera bientôt possible d’obtenir une notification lorsqu’une tentative de connexion à votre compte a été effectuée. La fonctionnalité peut être essayée sur le wiki de test. Cela ne fonctionnera que si la connexion échoue. [3]
- Les wikis Wikimédia utilisent OCG pour générer des documents au format PDF. Le code d’OCG comportait de nombreux problèmes et va cesser de fonctionner. Il doit être remplacé. Electron est proposé comme alternative. Vous pouvez indiquer aux développeurs les fonctionnalités dont vous avez besoin dans le générateur de PDF. Electron est actuellement en place sur tous les projets Wikimédia. [4]
- Les administrateurs pourront bientôt chercher des pages supprimées par titre et trouver des résultats similaires à leur recherche. Actuellement, la recherche ne trouve que des pages qui correspondent exactement à votre saisie. Le nouveau fonctionnement va permettre de trouver plus facilement les pages lorsque vous ne connaissez pas le titre exact. Les administrateurs de Wikipédia en arabe, en catalan, en anglais, en perse, en allemand, en italien, en polonais et en russe ainsi que les administrateurs de mediawiki.org peuvent faire le test en ajoutant
&fuzzy=1

- Un problème survenait sur les cartes des wikis de Wikimédia qui utilisent

lors d’un clic sur un lien vers un service cartographique tiers tel qu’OpenStreetMap ou Google Maps. Si vous aviez marqué un lieu sur la carte, le marqueur n’était pas au même endroit sur le service tiers, mais était placé au milieu de la carte. Ceci a été résolu. [13]

- Les traductions non publiées très anciennes et inactives dans la base de données des traductions des contenus seront supprimées. Ceci est nécessaire pour une maintenance technique. Si vous n’avez pas travaillé sur une traduction depuis le 1er janvier 2016, vous la perdrez après le 6 juillet. Si vous voulez conserver la traduction non terminée, vous devez l’ouvrir avec le 6 juillet avec l’outil de traduction de contenu. Vous pourrez continuer à travailler dessus plus tard. Les traductions qui ont été démarrées ou qui ont eu des travaux depuis le 1er janvier 2016 ne seront pas affectées.
- Il n’y a pas de nouvelle version de MediaWiki cette semaine.
- EventStreams est un nouveau moyen permettant d’afficher l’activité des wikis de Wikimédia. Il fonctionne à partir du flux des modifications récentes. Il en fera davantage à l’avenir. Il remplacera RCStream. Les outils basés sur RCStream devraient migrer vers EventStreams avant le 7 juillet. Les actualités techniques l’avaient annoncé dans le bulletin de la semaine 7 de 2017. [14]

- « Wikimedia Labs » s’appelle désormais « Cloud VPS ». « Wikimedia Tool Labs » s’appelle désormais « Wikimedia Toolforge ». Ces renommages ont été effectués afin de clarifier le rôle de ces services. [17]
Problèmes
- Sur certaines pages, le sommaire n’est pas affiché. Il devrait réapparaitre si vous effectuez une nouvelle modification sur la page. L’enquête autour de ce problème est en cours. [18]

- La nouvelle version de MediaWiki sera installée sur les wikis de test et sur MediaWiki.org à partir du 18 juillet. Elle sera installée sur tous les wikis hormis la majorité des Wikipédias le 19 juillet et enfin sur toutes les Wikipédias restantes le 20 juillet (calendrier).

- Les Aperçus de page, qui sont pour le moment une fonctionnalité bêta, vont être activés pour les utilisateurs déconnectés sur toutes les Wikipédias restantes sauf anglais et allemand au cours de la semaine du 24 juillet. Un test A/B va être lancé sur la Wikipédia anglophone pour collecter des données avant de contacter la communauté pour débattre. [20]

- Le CSS dans les modèles sera stocké sur une page séparée dans l’avenir. Cela permettra d’adapter plus facilement les modèles aux appareils mobiles. Ce système est déjà en place sur mediawiki.org et Wikitech. Il sera prochainement installé sur d’autres wikis. [21][22][23]
