L'opus se compose de deux albums : Thug et Life.

Best of 2Pac, Part 1: Thug s'est classé 13^e au Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, 48^e au Top Pop Catalog et 65^e au Billboard 200^[5] et Best of 2Pac, Part 2: Life s'est classé 15e au Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums et 77^e au Billboard 200^[6].

En mai 2008, plus de 121 000 exemplaires de Thug avaient été vendus, tandis qu'il s'était écoulé plus de 90 550 copies de Life.
